TGIF!!!

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!

I'm having a great day so far. Bills have been paid, dishes washed, ironing done, bed made, room clean (well, as clean as it gets!), sun shining, birds playing in the bird bath ... an it's not even lunchtime!

Ok, so I didn't actually do the ironing and dish washing myself - but it's still done. Parents have gone for the weekend and I am chilled. Haven't had a weekend to myself for a very long time. Once upon a time they would both go to respite on the same weekend, but these days only Dad goes. I get that Mum needs a break from him, but I need a break too!!!!!

I have no idea what I'm going to do this weekend though - although I think it will involve peace and quiet.

Ahhh, so pretty!

I've just put some new pictures up on my deviantART profile. They were taken in my front garden. I love the smiley little yellow flowers - so pretty!

Well, I feel like a two-toed sloth!

How embarrassing - 9 months since I posted. I mean, seriously .... I could have made an entire person in that time (not that I did).  Surely I should have managed a blog update or two .....

What can I say? Bad, bad me! In my defence I had some issues. That horrid nasty virus that makes you computer want to run a virus check all the time, which meant that Mr.Lappy had to have a brain reset. I think it was more traumatic for me. Has anyone ever taken note of how much 'stuff' we accumulate on our computers? I try not to, but it just keeps growing and growing.

Of course my newest obsession is my beautiful nephew Sam. Awwwww. He was born in January and is the most beautiful. baby ever. Really. Seriously. I'm positive. I'm not biased in any way ..... honest!

So my new plan is such: from now on I shall make my blog my homepage. Therefore I will constantly be reminded that it is here needing love!

More Beads!

Even more beaded bags. This one is my own pattern and design, and is finished with an antique button and chain.

 

 

Some Creations

Here are some beaded amulet bags that I made. The pattern is from a site called Ava's Beading Galore
which has some amazing free patterns. This one I altered slight to make into a tiny bag, which is in two colour schemes.

My constant companion is an awesome little dude known as Argus the Wonder Dog. He is a Corgi - this means that he is a snob! In my opinion Corgis rival Cats in their arrogance and teddy bears in their cuteness. To quote my next door neighbour:
"He is so beautiful that when I look at hime my eyes hurt"

Indeed.

To Celebrate ATWD's 13 th birthday I decided to post one of my many, many photos of him. I've been inspired by my friend Gypsy (who creates amazing photo manips - check here [link]) and so I created my first ever manip. I like how it turned out, but even more importantly it has the Wonder Dog's seal of approval.

I've recently discovered DeviantArt and have created an account there. It's mainly for my art creations, but I've also been putting my beadwork up. I decided that I should post some here as well, so you can see what it's about!  I'll also leave the link for those who feel so inclined.

Swimming

Well, 10 years ago I competed at the Sydney 2000 Paralympics in the Australian Swimming Team - and then I retired! The pic below was taken at the closing ceremony (I'm the one in the wheelcair). In the last month I decided to start swimming again, with the local Aussi Masters swim club (Masters is for those over 25) and boy have I felt it! My main reason for this is to lose some weight (kinda hard to do when you can't walk), but also to get out and do something that involves mixing with people other than those in my normal circle of friends. I've struggled a bit with the early mornings, my fitness and the fact that I'm ten years older than I was last time I swam, but I'm hoping that I'll keep going. Watch this space!

First Post!

Ok, so this is my first post, on my first blog. Hopefully I can keep it going (though no promises), and also keep it interesting.

I'm not planning on this being about anything in particular, be it ramblings, graphics, tales or what have you, but a bit of everything. Feel free to leave me comments (nice ones of course).
